Brosophagus is a small, independent app. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to give you food verdicts, we don't know who you are, we never sell your data or share it for advertising, and you can erase everything with one tap.
Before any profile, ingredients, or photos leave your device, the app explains this processing and asks you to agree. If you do not agree, no personal or scan data is transmitted. You can pause future AI data sharing from the Profile tab and review this policy before agreeing again.
Brosophagus has no sign-up. When you first launch the app it receives an anonymous random token that identifies your device's data. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, or advertising identifiers. We cannot link your data to you as a person.
This data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers in the United States (us-east-1), associated only with your anonymous token.
Photos you choose of food or ingredient labels are sent securely for analysis and processed transiently. Brosophagus does not store those photos in its AWS storage or scan history. Anthropic processes them under its API data-handling and retention terms.
In the app: Profile → Delete all my data. This permanently erases your profile, triggers, and entire scan history from our servers and invalidates your token. There is no grace period and no backup copy to restore.
Brosophagus is an informational tool. Verdicts are AI-generated estimates and can be wrong. Always read labels yourself if you have severe reactions, and follow your clinician's guidance for GERD, EoE, or any medical condition.
Brosophagus is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
If this policy changes materially, the "Last updated" date above will change and the app's store listing will reflect it.
